Whole Clove

Whole clove – not bloomed, dried flower buds of the clove tree, used as a spice. Cloves can easily give a clearly leading taste to various dishes, the word “cloves” comes from the Latin word “nail” – clavus (ang. cloves). Cloves are native to the northern part of the Indonesian Spice Islands. Cloves are dark brown in colour, formed during drying and fumigation. They have a baking taste, thanks to the oil in the buds. The characteristic smell gives the clove eugenol.
