Cinnamon stick (Indonesia) spice * cassia sticks , cinnamon- Cinnamon has been known since ancient times and was used in Ancient Egypt for mummification. It is mentioned in Scripture, in the works of Herodotus and authors of the classical period. Sri Lanka is the main producer of cinnamon proper, while Cassia is mainly produced in Indonesia. Cinnamon is a popular spice obtained from dried cinnamon bark. It comes in two forms, grinded into powder or in small, rolled-up pieces, is rusty in colour and, thanks to the cinnamon oil it contains, has a characteristic sweet and spicy taste and a strong aroma.
